When In Haiti
I traveled to Haiti to cover the aftermath of the earthquake and fell in love with its resilience and spirit. These are my tips to really get to know the island:
Buy some artwork made of tin in the artisan village of Croix-Des-Bouquets (and support employment in local communities).
Stay at the Oloffson Hotel in Port-Au-Prince where owner Richard Morse hosts weekly rock and roll parties.
Take toys and donations to the children in Port-Au-Prince’s tent city where thousands still live after the earthquake.
Attend a voodoo ritual in Carrefour (and be prepared to spend the night!).
